A Trip to the Lakes?

While you’re here at Cross Hall Farm you’re already in one National Park, the Yorkshire Dales to the east of us, but why not also go west and explore the Lake District?

This is Bassenthwaite Lake, near Keswick, with Skiddaw behind. Its neighbouring lake is Derwentwater. (The River Derwent runs through both of them on its way to Cockermouth and to the Irish Sea at Workington). Even on a dull day a rowing boat or a cruise on Derwentwater is a pleasure.

Then of course there are many other lakes to enjoy. Make the most of your time here. Don’t miss the Cumbrian Lake District.
