Museums and Galleries, especially for the damp days

The areas of Cumbria, Yorkshire, North Lancashire and County Durham that are easily accessible within an hour by road (and many much less) from Sedbergh include a wide variety of interesting museums and galleries. This is in addition to the many historic country houses and castles open to the public. These are ideal for visits on days when fell walking could become a rather dampening experience.
