County Durham may not at first sight seem like a place to visit during an holiday in Cumbria or the Yorkshire Dales. In fact, though, from this corner of Cumbria it is easier to get to, say, Barnard Castle and Teesdale than to the Western Lakes or Wharfedale. If your home is on Tyneside you probably won\’t want to go part way home on a day trip, but if you\’re up from the South for a rare visit north then, Why not?
